World Children Day

World Children’s Day, Are you paying attention to your child?

My little daughter’s name is Angel. She is now six years old. He is now studying in the first year of school. Since my husband and I work, we have to leave early in the morning, and the school is about a kilometer away from home, so my child is taken to school by a very friendly taxi driver who lives near our house. He also brings her home in the evening.

One day when I was very busy in the office I received a phone call from my daughter’s class teacher asking me to come to school as soon as possible.

“Is there something wrong with Angel?” I asked very nervously.

I ran like a madman to Angel’s classroom, unable to think of anything.

“Angel’s mother…” the teacher called me. “We need to talk about this in private,” she said, walking me into a small office.

“Are you home when Angel leaves home for school in the morning?” Her first question was.. I replied “yes miss” not even knowing what she was going to say.

“What time does the child leave the house?”

“Daughter is handed over to the taxi driver between 7.00 – 7.15 in the morning as we both leave for work early.

“How does Angel behave at that time?”

“He’s acting very normal, miss.”

“Don’t worry about what I’m going to tell you. Are you ready to hear what I have to say?”

What else can I do but listen? So I shook my head yes.

“Angel always comes to school around 8.30 in the morning,” she started the story like that. But since some time she enters the classroom with tears in her eyes.. At first I thought that it might be because Angel doesn’t want to come to school..
